How does this program work?

The VAC is the Veterans Administration program in Canada which covers you in Mexico for medical care directly related to your service connected disabilities. The program is officially called the VCA. There is no cost to join and registering does not change your VA government benefits in anyway. There are no-copay or deductibles associated with your policy and there are NO out of pocket expenses for you in any way for medical services provided by us. Medication coverage is also included. Lakeside Medical Group will provide to you medical care, including hospitalizations, medications, office visits, diagnostics, labs etc that is directly related to you service connected disabilities. There is no cost to you.

How can Lakeside Medical Group work with the VA?

We have agreements and contracts with over 400 different American insurance companies including VAC

Will my current VA benefits be affected?

No. Your current VAC benefits will not be affected in any way. 

What is a Rating Letter and how do I get it? 

A Rating Letter, also know as a Narrative Evaluation is a letter that the VA sends to you that specifically lists all of your service connected disabilities. You can download your letter here  https://www.veterans.gc.ca/eng/e_services
 

I want more coverage in Mexico above and beyond my service connected disabilities. What are my options?

Your only option for coverage is to purchase insurance coverage if you want coverage above and beyond your service connected disability coverage. Please let us know if you would like some options that may be available to you

Annual Wellness Exams are available exclusively for our active registered members.
 
Our primary care physician will meet with you at NO charge to you. Exams and diagnostics in the list below which are medically justified and approved by our primary care physician are also included at no charge to you.

Annual Wellness Exams include the following:
 
  • Visit with PCP for full physical and history
  • Including and updating your medical records in our HIPPA compliant medical records system
  • EKG
  • Vision acuity exam
  • BH (CBC complete blood count) and QS (Chem 8)
  • Breast cancer screening (mammogram) Female
  • PSA Prostate cancer screening (PSA Blood Test) Male
  • Colorectal Cancer Screening (at home fecal test)
  • Lipid Panel
  • Urinalyis
  • Checking medication and expiration dates
  • Reviewing all medications for possible drug interactions
  • Setting up medication refills
  • Updating the list of medications in your medical records
 
 
 
Medical visits are provided in the Lakeside Medical Group Hospital. Our facility is located Hidalgo 148A San Antonio de Tlyacapan 45922. We are located directly across from the SuperLake grocery store.
 
All scheduling is handled online by email and via the  scheduler.
